2026 launched with a bang as the Spanner Big Band hit the stage at the legendary Wilton’s Music Hall, joining Steve Pretty’s Origin of the Pieces live podcast as special guests. Two shows, one matinee and one evening blowout. We tore through Medicine alongside fellow guest DJ Steady — a 10-year-old drum ’n’ bass DJ who absolutely smashed it. Huge fun all round, and video footage is on the way.
The Big Band is back in action with its fortnightly residency at The Three Compasses (check the gig list) and heads to Brighton in May. There’s also a new recording project brewing… album number four is calling.
The Dan Spanner Trio kicked off the year at The Antwerp Arms, The Dublin Castle, and The Horn in St Albans. The St Albans show was a Battle of the Bands — and the Trio came out on top, securing a semi-final spot in June. Next up: The Rebel Inn in Streatham and a return to The Dublin Castle. Meanwhile, the band is deep into recording album number two, due later this year.
